Bumper Parts

A modern car generally has three different bumper parts. The first layer is the cover, which is there more for cosmetic reasons than for safety. These are designed to fit over the steel bumper bar, and they usually attach at the sides.

The second layer of bumper parts is usually Styrofoam. This layer is designed to absorb the energy of a minor impact. This layer sits between the cover and the bumper bar.
